Volunteers generally serve a four week time frame during the summer months.  If you do not have four weeks available to serve, GANSU, INC may still be able to use your services, so please let us know of your interest.

Volunteer teams consist of five members:

• An American Board Certified Ophthalmologist
• A Nurse to assist the doctor during surgeries
• A Translator to help with communication between English speaking volunteers and Mandarin speaking Chinese patients.
• A non-medical person to assist the nurse and complete other varied responsibilities
• A non-medical person to handle mechanical, electrical, plumbing and all miscellaneous technical situations.

The first step to becoming a mission volunteer is to complete the Initial Application Form.  If you are interested in serving the underserved of northwest China, please complete the Initial Application and mail it to the GANSU, INC office.  You are welcome to call the office anytime to ask questions and receive further information.
