William "Bill" C. Conrad, MD, an Ophthalmologist, is the founder of GANSU, INC. A graduate of Bethel University and the Medical School: University of Minnesota, he took his Ophthalmology Residency training at Walter Reed General Hospital. He served 8 years with the Army before working in private practice for 20 years in Boulder, Colorado and 15 years in Warner Robins, Georgia. Dr. Conrad retired in 2004 but continues to keep his medical license current.
The founding and leadership of this non-profit organization could not have been accomplished without the support of Bill's wife of 46 years, Peggy Conrad. She is a graduate of the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Together they have served in rural northwest China 16 consecutive years, offering restored sight to the cataract blind.
The Conrads enjoy time spent with their 3 children and 8 grandchildren. Bill is an avid reader and respected Sunday School teacher. Peggy is an avid shopper and continues to work as an Ophthalmic nurse.
We invite you to read the History of GANSU, INC to learn more about the Conrads and the founding of this corporation.
