Dr. Conrad performs cataract surgery.Plans are underway for the GANSU, INC 2009 mission effort.  Eight teams, of five volunteers each, will serve during the summer months (June, July, and August) in the People's Republic of China.  Four teams will serve in Qin'An, Gansu province while four teams will serve simultaneously in Gonghe, Qinghai province.  Through GANSU, INC's cooperation with the local hospital administrators and eye care providers, patients with blindness, due to cataracts, will be offered surgical care and restored vision.  Approximately 650 patients will be served in 2009.  GANSU, INC does not charge a fee for this specialized care.

Volunteers are still needed:  American Board Certified Ophthalmologists, nurses, and translators (translate Engish to Mandarin Chinese and vice versa).  View the "Become a Volunteer" section of this site for more information.  Please also contact GANSU, INC for answers to your questions.
